A Quick Care Guide for Your Reptile Deli Hornworms

Keeping your hornworms healthy is easy and ensures they remain a high-quality treat for your reptile.

1. Housing:

• Container: Your hornworms will arrive in a ready-to-use cup that contains their food source and ventilation. DO NOT transfer them to a new container.
• Substrate/Food: The blue/green gelatinous substance at the bottom of the cup is their food. This is all they need, as it provides both nutrition and hydration.

2. Temperature and Handling:

• Temperature: Keep the hornworm cup at room temperature, ideally between 70-80°F (21-26°C). DO NOTrefrigerate them, as this will kill them. A warmer temperature will cause them to grow faster, so if you need them to last longer, keep them on the cooler side of this range.
• Handling: Use tweezers or a soft scoop to gently remove the hornworm you are feeding to your reptile. They can be handled, but be gentle as their skin is delicate.

3. Growth:

• Hornworms will grow rapidly. If you purchase large worms, plan to feed them within a few days. If you buy smaller worms, you will have a longer window to use them.
